Ariana Grande Releases New Song Just Before SNL

Ariana Grande is expected to release her new single Thank You, Next right before the latest episode of Saturday Night Live.

And the song about 'empowerment' specifically names her ex-fiance and SNL funnyman Pete Davidson in the lyrics, according to TMZ.
The source said it's 'not a diss track' even though she accused him of being a 'hypocrite' earlier in the week.

Instead, the ballad reflects 'what she's been through in her relationships and other experiences' including naming another ex, Mac Miller, who tragically died of an overdose in September.

The insider reported that Ariana 'felt betrayed by Pete' when he made a joke about failed marriages during an SNL promo and that she 'doesn't want to take the chance that he'll talk about their breakup' in tonight's episode as she 'just sits by'.
Part of the lyrics she posted read: 'Got so much love, got so much patience. I've learnt from the pain... and turns out amazing... say I've loved and I've lost, but that's not what I see cause look what I got... look what you taught me.'

The song will be released at 11 PM ET.

Earlier in the day, Ariana announced a bundle of new music on Saturday morning via a series of 24 tweets.

It seems the title of the new track 'thank u, next' and possibly the whole album was inspired what she said to her now ex-fiance.

Following an SNL promo featuring Pete, Ariana tweeted 'For somebody who claims to hate relevancy u sure love clinging to it huh,' before adding 'thank u, next.'
On Saturday morning, the 25-year-old Side to Side songstress posted some rather abstract images to her Instagram Story which featured the phrase 'thank u, next.'

Two popular memes contained the phrase, which was then apparently confirmed to be the title of the upcoming album via some corresponding tweets.

The pop star took to twitter to respond 'u already know it' to one suspicious fan who asked what the name of the new music would be.
Moments later Ariana explained 'exactly .... a new chapter gratitude, growth, embracing our path bumps n all .... thank u, next.'

Another tweet read 'no drags... no shade..... just love, gratitude, acceptance, honesty, forgiveness ... and growth.'

Even the Problem singer's mom got involved, tweeting 'Pure class, dignity, pride, intelligence, true talent and truly beautiful inside and out!'

Ariana sweetly responded 'nah that's all, you mommy.'
After telling her fans that she was taking a break from the internet to work out, she returned to post an image of a song titled 'thank u next' by an unknown artist apparently playing on her iPhone.

Of course, the unknown artist is no doubt Ariana herself, given the other evidence.

She also revealed that she apparently authored the upcoming album with her friend singer Victoria Monet.
'This what happens when u write an album w your best friends lol @VictoriaMonet they dig up all your old sayings and it ends up becoming the album title lmao,' she tweeted.

While Ariana didn't specify exactly when the new music would become available, she did clarify that a single would drop first.
