DSS Parades Six Suspects Over Agom Adara’s Killing

The Kaduna Command of the Department of State Security yesterday paraded six suspects over the killing of the Agwom Adara, Maiwada Galadima of Adara Chiefdom.

The command paraded a notorious kidnapper, Musa Mohammaed who has been terrorising people in the state.

The director of the command, who paraded the suspects, Mahmud Ningi, said 20 of them were involved in the kidnap and killing of the paramount ruler.

He said six were arrested; and the others were at large, saying “Security agencies are on their trail.”

He noted that the Service had been tracking activities of the criminals during the negotiation, but could not affect their arrest because the safety of the victims was paramount.

According to him, “Immediately Galadima’s body was discovered; the Service tracked and arrested six members of the syndicate at different locations in the state. During preliminary interrogation, they made confessional statements about their involvement in the crime.”

He gave the suspects’ names as Adamu Sani, Adamu Saidu, Adamu Isya, Yusuf Bello, Dahiru Muhammad Bello and Mohammed Aminu.

He said that the Service would ensure proper prosecution of the suspects.

Meanwhile, the state government yesterday demanded a quick conclusion of the investigation and diligent prosecution of the suspects.

The Southern Kaduna Muslim Ummah Development Association, in a statement yesterday by its chairman, Adamu Kagarko, appealed to the people of the state to eschew violence and embrace dialogue in resolving any misunderstanding among them.

The Executive Director, the National Human Rights Association, Sadau Garba, in a letter, addressed to El-rufai, also urged the state government to explore new approaches of bringing lasting peace to the state.
