Man Arraigned For Alleged Theft Of UNDP’s Machines

An 18-year-old man has been arraigned in Lagos for allegedly stealing two boxes of tools and four sewing machines from the Badagry office of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).

The accused, Kudoro Peter, whose address was not given, is facing a two-count charge of felony and stealing before Badagry Chief Magistrates’ Court.

Prosecutor Akpan Ikem alleged that the accused, on October 23, conspired with others at large and stole the items, valued at N400,000 at UNDP office in Badagry, Lagos State.

“The accused stole two boxes that contained tools and four sewing machines valued at N400,000, the property of UNDP,” he said.

The offences contravene sections 409 and 285 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State, 2015 (Revised). The accused, however, pleaded not guilty.

Chief Magistrate Mr. Lazarus Hotepo granted the accused N200, 000 bail with two sureties.

The case was adjourned till November 8 for a substantive hearing.
