Two killed in fresh Plateau attack

Two persons were on Sunday killed in an ambush around Nding sesut village in Barkin Ladi Local Government Area of Plateau State while returning from a vegetable farm.

Daily Trust gathered that the attack also left three people injured, while the assailants escaped with a pick-up load of vegetables.

Fodio Umar, who sells vegetables at the building material vegetable market in Jos South Local Government Area told Daily Trust that the victims were resident of Barkin Ladi town who often sell vegetables at the building material market.

He said the incident had been reported to the District Police Officer and Area Commander adding that “the two victims were buried this morning (Monday) according to Islamic rites and the DPO was present.”

When contacted, Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Tyopev Terna asked our correspondent to send him a text, but hours later, he neither replied to the text nor responded to several phone calls to his phone.

However, Operation Safe Haven Media and Information Officer, Major Adam Umar, confirmed the attack, saying the victims had been taken to the Barkin Ladi General Hospital where two of them were confirmed dead.
