Buhari arrives Lagos for Presidential campaign


President Muhammadu Buhari has arrived Lagos for his presidential campaign ahead of next Saturday’s election.

Buhari and his entourage landed at the Presidential Wing of the Murtala Muhammed Airport, Lagos at around 10.15 am.

The President arrived aboard a Nigerian Air Force Boeing aircraft with registration number 5N-FGT to a rousing welcome by All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftains and supporters

He was received at the Presidential lounge by Governor Akinwunmi Ambode, ministers and other senior government officials.

The Lagos airport and its vicinity witnessed heavy presence of security operatives comprising officers of the Nigerian Police, the Army, Nigerian Airforce, Civil Defence.

Personnel of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) were also on ground to control the traffic movement.

It was learnt that on arrival, the President and his entourage immediately proceeded to the palace of the Oba of Lagos, Riliwanu Akiolu while they would, from there, head to the Teslim Balogun Stadium Surulere, venue of the rally.

Buhari left the MMA in a chopper with registration number NAF-540 at 10.30am for his engagements in the nation’s commercial capital.

The state government which earlier announced closure of some routes in Lagos later reversed the decision, saying people can go about their normal businesses.
