Udeogaranya tasks INEC on credible elections

A People’s Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain, Chief Charles Udeogaranya, has told the Independent National Electoral Commission, (INEC), to get things right during the rescheduled presidential and National Assembly election slated for Saturday, February 23, 2019. He said the elections must be conducted to meet globally-acceptable standards.

Udeogaranya said the electoral umpire must try to do things differently from the previous elections it conducted in the recent past whose outcomes it declared inconclusive.

“All the inconclusive and supplementary elections conducted by this INEC current team have been deemed fraudulent by most election observers. The Kogi, Ekiti and Osun gubernatorial elections are all there for all to see.

“Nigeria at the moment is at crossroads; if INEC allows the 2019 presidential election to be fraudulent, this will portend nothing good for Nigeria, Nigerians and the international community.

“INEC, therefore, needs to conduct elections simultaneously nationwide with PVC machines which the electorate can use once. Inconclusive elections conducted by INEC have proved to be a highway to electoral fraud but this time, such conduct will not be acceptable by Nigerians.”
