They went red carpet official at the Met Gala two years ago.

Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez were once again the glamour couple to watch at the 2019 edition of 'fashion's biggest night.'

The 49-year-old pop diva was showgirl chic in a glittering fringe Versace gown with a plunging neckline that played up her unmistakable curves.

Her shimmering ensemble, which featured shades of pink mixed into its mostly silver design, had a dangerously high thigh-slit that allowed her to flash her dancer's legs.

J-Lo's backless gown matched an elaborate fringe headdress and a pale pink clutch, and she added a bit of dazzle to the look with a heart necklace.

Where jewelry was concerned, the centrepiece of the look was her engagement ring from A-Rod - a bauble estimated to cost millions.

In keeping with the camp theme of the night, Jennifer accentuated her screen siren features with heavy makeup and balanced on gleaming platform stilettos.

Meanwhile, the former New York Yankee swanked about in a Versace look that would have been a classic suit if not for the eye-popping bubblegum pink jacket.

Both he and his bride-to-be posted the same Instagram photo in which they cuddled up to one another in the car en route to the celebrity-strewn party.

She got a bit of posing done on the pink carpet with none other than Donatella Versace, the chief designer of the Italian fashion brand.

While Jennifer and Donatella stood together for the shutterbugs, they got an odd sidelong glance from Kylie Jenner, who was also in Versace.

Donatella, the sister of the fashion house's late founder Gianni Versace, got green highlights in her platinum hair to complement her gown.

This year is Jennifer's 12th time at the Met Gala and third time wearing Versace there - the first two were the British-themed 2006 show and the China-themed 2015 show.

She became a fashion icon in 2000 when she attended the Grammys in a green Versace gown with a neckline down to her waist.

Jennifer gave her nearly 93 million Instagram followers a glimpse of the preparation stages of her look earlier that day.

The 49-year-old pop diva posted a photo to her Insta Stories that showed her from behind as she stood in front of a balcony in her hometown of New York City.

J-Lo had her hair gathered up into a bun and modelled an elaborate fur-trimmed robe with a baby blue, tangerine, lime green and canary yellow floral print.

'Let the glam begin...' wrote the Jenny From The Block singer, who started off the week on Monday with an appearance on the Today show.

While on the breakfast show, the tireless hoofer performed her new single Medicine, her 2018 hit Dinero and her 2011 song On The Floor.

The El Anillo songbird also showered praise on her fifth and current fiance, who proposed two months ago on a beach at sunset.

'We just complement each other. He's super supportive. He allows me to be who I am, and I want him to shine in the greatest way possible and be his best self. We just help each other be better people in a way,' gushed Jennifer.

'We grew up the same. We kind of both got in the public eye very young, both had our hard moments in the public eye. But at the same time, we keep coming back.'

She added: 'We both have a lot of respect and admiration for each other. And he helps me - he helps me where I'm weak, and I help him where he's weak. He makes me stronger. That's what it is.'

Jennifer and Alex made their red carpet debut at the 2017 Met Gala, a tribute to Commes Des Garcons, and also attended the Catholic-themed 2018 ball together.

The theme of Anna Wintour's 2019 gala at the Metropolitan Museum Of Art is the late Susan Sontag's essay Notes On 'Camp,' first published in the Partisan Review in 1964.
