Lady Gaga has been known to be a fashion forward risk-taker during her illustrious career as a singer, songwriter and now - actress.

But on Friday the pop superstar decided to take a look back to recent times when she rocked a 1990s grunge ensemble for her flight to New York City ahead of the highly-anticipated Met Gala 2019.

The Manhattan native was the picture of Seattle rocker chic in Dr. Martens combat boots and a flannel shirt tied around a green and yellow fruit dress by Marc Jacobs.

Appearing to be in mid-flight on a private plane, Gaga's number flaunted her womanly curves with its plunging neckline.

She was also able to showoff her left leg and boot by confidently lifting it up onto a counter-top.

Her platinum blonde locks was styled high with a flip to the side by a left part and added volume.

'Met Gala here we come. Destination “Camp,” so excited to co-chair Anna’s event,' the pop superstar captioned the two Instagram photos.

'(and I didn't shave my legs for 4 days which really completes the look). thank you @sarahtannomakeup for the jacob's schwag.'

The Born Like This singer - born Stefani Germanotta - is set to play an integral part in the upcoming Met Gala in New York City.

She will be sharing co-hosting duties with Harry Styles, Serena Williams, Vogue editor-in chief Anna Wintour and Gucci Creative Director Alessandro Michele during the May 9 event that also serves as a fundraiser for the museum's Costume Institute.

The Met Gala - often referred to a 'fashion's biggest night out' - attracts an array of celebrity stars and artists, and is considered the pinnacle of iconic style.

The evening also signifies the much-anticipated grand opening of the Costume Institute's annual fashion exhibition which was dubbed this go-around as 'Camp: Notes of Fashion.'

The exhibition goes from May 9 until September 9.
