Taylor Swift is slated to appear on Ellen Wednesday in a rare sit-down TV interview.

'Wednesday, May 15th, @TAYLORSWIFT is gonna be talking to ME!' Ellen DeGeneres said in an Instagram post-Friday.

The 29-year-old singer-songwriter on the show will open up about her new hit single ME!, with Panic! At The Disco's Brendon Urie, which the pair performed at the Billboard Music Awards in Las Vegas earlier this month.

The Grammy-winner spoke with Entertainment Weekly in an interview published Thursday in which she discussed her forthcoming album.

She said of the clues she's been subtly laying out for fans via social media: 'I love that they like the cryptic hint-dropping. Because as long as they like it, I'll keep doing it. It's fun. It feels mischievous and playful.'

She explained the intricacies of her material, and how her last album, reputation, was misunderstood out of the gate because fans were digesting small snippets instead of the work as a whole.

It 'was interesting,' she said, 'because I'd never before had an album that wasn't fully understood until it was seen live.'

She continued: 'When it first came out everyone thought it was just going to be angry; upon listening to the whole thing they realized it's actually about love and friendship, and finding out what your priorities are.'

Swift told the magazine that sending a clear message to the audience is an essential duty for any artist.

'Songwriters need to communicate,' she said, 'and part of communicating correctly is when you put out a message that is understood the way you meant it.'
