Mourinho looking to steal Man United transfer with phone call

Jose Mourinho has made some good progress with Tottenham Hotspur. The club was struggling when Mauricio Pochetino left mid-season. Jose has his ways of doing things and many times his way might not be ideal.

But as Jose has always said, the most important thing is to get in the result. And since Mourinho has joined only Manchester City, Liverpool, and Manchester United, have earned more points than Tottenham.

Tottenham was at the 14th spot in the Premier League. Jose took them to sixth place and got them back in Europe. However, the expectations will be even higher for the next season. Spurs will want to push into the top four and compete for a Champions League place.

However to accomplish that goal Jose will need to add some players. Tottenham have already completed 3 signings. The club signed Joe Hart from Burnley on a free transfer.

Matt Doherty came in from Wolverhampton for £15 million and Pierre-Emile Hoijberg came in from Southampton for the same amount. But Jose Mourinho wants more for Tottenham.

Mourinho is looking at adding Sergio Reguilon to the Tottenham team. Manchester United are also interested in signing Reguilon and both of the clubs will have to fight it out for the Spaniard.

Sergio Reguilon is coming off an excellent season with Sevilla. His performances in the Europa League were exceptional and both United and Tottenham are inquiring over his availability.

Real Madrid has made it somewhat clear that Reguilon will not be getting the first-team spot ahead of Marcelo and Mendy. In that situation he has to look for his future elsewhere as playing time is his first priority.

“I’m going day by day. If I’m thinking about calls and my future, I wouldn’t be able to enjoy being with the national team. Obviously Real Madrid is my home, but it’s not easy. I have all the factors in mind.” This was Regulion’s statement for the current situation.

According to the Spanish website OkDiario, Mourinho personally made a phone call to Sergio Reguilon’s discussing a move to Tottenham. Tottenham will have to pay around £30-35 million for Reguilon. But if they go ahead with the move, it will be money well spent.

“I think fans generally have no comprehension of how hard it is to physically do a transfer.”He added: “I get very frustrated if we get to the end of a transfer window and the team is not in a better place than when we started.”This was a statement given by Tottenham chief Daniel Levy.

Tottenham fans will be hoping that Reguilon’s move goes smoothly. At just 23 Reguilon is much better than Ben Davies who plays as the current left-back. The 20-21 season will start on 12 September and it would be ideal if the transfer affairs are in order by then.
