You are created to be Fruitful [Part 4] by Pastor Faith Oyedepo

Dear Reader,

By the Word of God, we have been exposed to what steps to take, in enjoying pregnancy periods. I believe you are taking those steps already. You shall no longer experience hardship during those periods in Jesus’ precious name!

Today, I want to discuss the topic, Children are blessings. Before you begin to bring forth those wonderful children, I would like to enlighten you on whom they are. It is my prayer that your eyes will be opened to this truth, in Jesus’ precious name. Perhaps, your quiver is not full of children already, it is not late at all. Sit down and relax. You are on course. God is about to show you something new from His Word because His Word is new every day. You shall not have regrets over your children.

The Word of God says: Lo, children are a heritage of the Lord: and the fruit of the womb is his reward. As arrows are in the hand of a mighty man; so are children of the youth. Happy is the man that hath his quiver full of them: they shall not be ashamed, but they shall speak with the enemies in the gate (Psalm 127:3-5).

This scripture says, “Lo” in other words “behold”, or in modern-day English, it means “look here or pay attention because it is very important and crucial,” children are the heritage of the Lord. The word heritage also means inheritance or blessings. Children are a gift from God; they are blessings to the family and are unique blends of their parents.

It is important as a family, to understand this fact that children are given to us as part of our heritage; they are part of our inheritance in Christ Jesus. It is important for parents to see them as part of their heritage from the Almighty God. In case you don’t have them yet, begin to imagine them as part of your blessings in Christ. They are on their way because God created you to be fruitful and He has pronounced you fruitful. As long as you are a child of God, you are entitled to the blessings of children. No matter what the doctors have diagnosed as being responsible for the delay or barrenness, God is greater than that report.

Reading that scripture again, “Children are a heritage of the Lord…,” God gives them to you. He gives them to you to oversee, take care of and bring them up in His fear, all the days of their lives. When you receive them as the heritage and blessings of God, then God’s purpose for sending them to you gets manifested. They are the heritage and blessings of the Lord. So, from today, refuse to see them as burdens in your life. They are not burdens; they are blessings: They are not burdens but are your heritage from God.

There are quite a number of parents who see their children as another burden. When the children do something wrong, instead of standing up to their own responsibilities, they look at them as burdensome and troublesome.

Your perspective in life determines your focus and interest. Somebody once said, “Your perspective in life picks your interest.” The Bible also says: For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he (Proverbs 23:7). Also in Jeremiah 1:11-12, the scripture says: Moreover the word of the Lord came unto me, saying, Jeremiah, what seest thou? And I said I see a rod of an almond tree. Then said the Lord unto me, Thou hast well seen: for I will hasten my word to perform it.

When you see a child as a burden in your life, that child will truly be a burden to you. Children are blessings from God. I want you to change your perspective about your children. See them, and look at them with your spiritual eyes as blessings of the Lord. The Word of the Lord says: The blessing of the Lord, it maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow with it (Proverbs 10:22). You are created to be Fruitful

Considering the above scripture, God does not want to bring sorrow to your life through your children. No, He does not. I want to let you know that God is not a liar. The Word of God says: God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? Or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?” (Numbers 23:19).

He will make His Word good in your life. If you have ever experienced sorrow over your children, I believe God that, it will be the last you will ever experience in Jesus’ name. Maybe, you have children that are problematic or they are like “thorns” in your flesh, today, I pray that God’s power will reach them. No matter how troublesome they are, God will turn their lives around for good in Jesus’ mighty name. Children are blessings of the Lord. You must know that the blessings of the Lord maketh rich and add no sorrow (Proverbs 10:22). From now on, this shall be your portion!

From our introductory scripture, verse 4, it says: As arrows are in the hand of a mighty man; so are children of thy youth. An arrow for the mighty man is an asset, not a burden. It’s a blessing to him, not a burden, so also are the children. In other words, children are assets and blessings. Verse 5 also says: Happy is the man that hath his quiver full of them: they shall not be ashamed, but they shall speak with the enemies in the gate. God wants you to enjoy your children for they are meant to be blessings indeed; they are to make you happy not sorrowful.

Well, dear reader, what has been your experience? Are your children blessings indeed, or, are they a burden to you? The Bible tells us to constantly examine ourselves, and make amendments. Which of these two categories is operational in your life right now? Is it the positive or the negative one? Examine your children. If they are a blessing to you, you will not sorrow over them, the spice that they have added to your home will not turn sour. They have been a blessing, and won’t turn into burdens for you. Blessings are God’s addition; they will not diminish.

Also, if they have been otherwise, it’s my prayer that God’s mighty Hand will come upon them today. Every hard-heartedness gives way right now. God, who has purposed them to be blessings, will cause you to rejoice over them. Great shall be their peace. Your laughter over your children this year shall be a reality.
You shall not miss it in Jesus’ mighty name!

Are you born again? If you are not, please say this prayer and be born again:

Dear Lord Jesus, I come to You today. I am a sinner. I cannot help myself. Forgive me of my sins and cleanse me with Your Blood. Deliver me from sin and satan to serve the living God. I accept You as my Lord and Saviour. Make me a child of God today. Thank You for accepting me into Your Kingdom.
